Our experienced team of design engineers use high performance workstation PCs to allow complex CAD data to be handled and manipulated in house. With many years experience we are skilled in multiple areas of mechanical, thermal and acoustic engineering of flexible passive fire protection systems.
We can take care of the whole design process from production of conceptual designs to suit the bespoke needs of our clients, allowing for excellent communication of ideas leading to solutions for a wide range of sectors.
Our design team initially collate and create the general arrangement drawings for client approval and then we work closely with the on-site manufacturing department. Many of our clients use this process to discuss ideas and then we can swiftly give customer feedback as the ideas and draft designs are developed.
AutoDesk Design Suite
2D and 3D Parametric Design Software.
FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
FEA is a numerical method for solving problems of engineering and mathematical physics. Typically used for structural analysis.
CFD (Computational Flow Dynamics)
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a branch of fluid mechanics that uses numerical analysis and data structures to solve and analyse problems that involve fluid flows. A more advanced version of FEA, CFD is used for complex simulation scenarios.
Enclosure Systems
From undertaking a number of tests MCL have developed a computer-modelling programme which can predict the surface temperature of any equipment to be protected minute by minute for up to two hours. Fire temperatures, duration, mass and overall dimensions of the equipment and limiting temperatures are entered into the programme which calculates the optimum thickness of insulation required.
Module Seal Systems
We use class leading 3rd party software to predict surface temperatures of our products.
